FootChakra ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our services, or book appointments at our wellness center located in Chennai, India.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in various ways, including:
- Personal Data: Name, email address, phone number, gender, date of birth (where applicable), and other contact information you provide when booking appointments or creating an account.
- Account Authentication Data: When you sign in via mobile OTP, we collect your phone number (with country code) and a one-time verification code transmitted via SMS through our SMS partner (Twilio). OTPs are short-lived and not retained after verification.
- Health Information: Information about your health conditions, preferences, and requirements that help us provide personalized wellness services.
- Booking Data: Service selected, preferred therapist, appointment date/time, special requests, and any history of past sessions and packages purchased.
- Payment Information: Card, UPI and bank details are never stored on FootChakra servers. They are tokenized and processed securely through our PCI-DSS compliant payment partner, Razorpay. We retain only transaction reference IDs, payment status, and amount paid.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our website, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, device identifiers, and time spent on pages.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and manage your appointment bookings, packages, and session history
- Verify your identity through SMS-based one-time passwords (OTPs) at sign-up and login
- Match you with appropriate therapists (e.g., gender preference for relevant treatments)
- Provide personalized wellness services tailored to your needs
- Process payments securely through Razorpay and issue receipts
- Send transactional SMS and email — booking confirmations, reminders, OTPs, payment receipts, cancellations, and refund updates
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- Send promotional communications (only with your explicit consent; you may opt out anytime)
- Improve our website, services, and detect/prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian law
4. SMS, OTP & Communication Consent
By providing your phone number and using OTP-based sign-up or login, you expressly consent to receive transactional SMS messages from FootChakra (or our delivery partner Twilio) at the number provided. These include:
- One-time passwords (OTPs) for account verification and login
- Booking confirmations and appointment reminders
- Payment receipts and refund notifications
Standard carrier rates may apply. Transactional messages are essential to the service and cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active account. Promotional messages are only sent with separate consent and can be opted out of at any time by replying STOP or contacting us.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist us in operating our website and conducting our business (e.g., payment processors, email services).
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, and property.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Payment information is processed securely through Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS compliant.

- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your personal data (see Section 8: Data Deletion & Account Removal for the full process)
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
8. Data Deletion & Account Removal
You have the right to request deletion of your FootChakra account and the personal data we hold about you (including your name, email address, phone number, gender, booking history, and any health/preference notes) at any time. This right applies to data collected through both our website (footchakra.com) and our FootChakra mobile app.
How to request deletion
To request deletion of your account and associated data, please contact us using either of the following channels from the email address or phone number registered on your account:
- Email: info@footchakra.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”

- In person: Visit us at our wellness center in Gowriwakkam, Chennai (address listed under section 12 below)
Please include your full name and the phone number / email associated with your FootChakra account so we can verify your identity before processing the request.
What gets deleted
Once verified, we will permanently delete:
- Your account profile (name, email, phone number, gender, date of birth)
- Your saved preferences and therapist selections
- Health notes and any free-text data you provided
- Marketing and communication preferences
- Authentication credentials and OTP logs
What we may retain (and why)
Indian law (including the Income Tax Act and GST regulations) requires us to retain certain transactional records for a minimum period (typically up to 8 years). After your account is deleted, we may still retain in anonymized or pseudonymized form:
- Invoices, receipts, and payment transaction IDs (required for tax/audit compliance)
- Aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics
- Records strictly required to defend legal claims or comply with court orders
These retained records are kept securely and are not used to contact you or for marketing purposes.
Timeline
We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with applicable privacy regulations. You will receive a confirmation email once the process is complete.
Important notes
- Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, you will lose access to your booking history, packages, and any unredeemed credits.
- If you have active bookings or unused package sessions, please contact us beforehand to settle or reschedule them.
- Uninstalling the FootChakra mobile app alone does not delete your account — you must submit a deletion request as described above.
9. Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
